Hold the brush firmly, but gentle and relaxed manner. Keep it straight and vertical to the desk. This way allows greater freedom of movement, control and execution of stroke. 

Place a landscape painting under drawing paper and copy a part of the painting using the linear drawing method.

This is to create powerful and solid contours. The brush movements are usually rough and discontinuous, like the chopping of an axe. It is used mainly to present the solid texture and roughness of rocks.
