Description

Mould for making counterfeit coins (denarii); Newstead (Trimontium), Scottish Borders. Ceramic mould from the end of a stack of such moulds used for making counterfeit coins. One face has the impression of a denarius of Antoninus Pius. Broken on one edge from removal of the coin. Image © National Museums Scotland
