Description
Fragments of fine chain-mail of bronze, lorica plumata, with scales, from the Roman site at Newstead (Trimontium), Roxburghshire, 80 - 180 AD. Armour was used to protect the body from both blunt and sharp force trauma. Image © National Museums Scotland.
