Knight, Death and the Devil

Description

This engraving was done during the lifetime of Albrecht Durer, but by another creator, imitating Durer's style. The print depicts a knight on horseback, riding through a forested area. The figure of death is shown on horseback as a skeleton-like figure, holding an hour glass. Death is positioned on the knight's side, suggesting that death is always near. The devil is depicted as a winged, mutant figure, displaying several varieties of horns. The devil is position just behind the knight, suggesting that evil temptations are always near. The scene has a city in the distance and the knight has a loyal hound by his side.
