A typical barracks building
Description
Japanese children play in front of one of the twenty-nine blocks, used as living quarters at Camp Amache, Prowers County, Colorado. The one-story, army-style barrack, (120 x 20 foot) is divided into six units, generally one per family. The structure has a tar-paper roof and walls, doors and window frames painted white, curtains and canopy roofs to sheltered doorways. Items along the front of the block include: lumber, a bicycle with a headlight and fenders, wooden storage bins, a wooden barrel, and a "Pet Milk" crate
