Description

This Autochrome screen plate was taken by Fred Payne Clatworthy (1875-1953) in Rocky Mountain National Park near Bear Lake in circa 1926. The image depicts a man hiking up a steep snow bank. A group of large boulders are visible immediately behind the man. Coniferous trees can be seen beyond the boulders. Notchtop Mountain looms on the horizon. Grass and wildflowers are visible in the foreground of the image.
