Photograph, Lake and Estes Cone, Rocky Mountain National Park
Description
This Autochrome screen plate was taken by Fred Payne Clatworthy (1875-1953) in Rocky Mountain National Park in circa 1925. The image depicts a view of an unidentified lake in the park. Long grass and flowers grow in the foreground of the image. Beyond them, a still, blue lake is visible. Long grass and trees grow on the distant shore of the lake. A line of coniferous trees is beyond the shore. Above the trees, Estes Cone rises on the horizon line on the left side of the image. The peak and lake shore are reflected in the surface of the lake. Inscription: "Colorado--RMNP Lake, Estes Cone 1920's"
