High School record or report card for Estell Olsen. See attached bio sketch for Oly Olsen. Keota grew out of the dry Colorado prairie to be a bustling town of 140 residents by 1919. Though small, Keota had sports teams, bands, clubs, hotels, restaurants, church life, and schools. Life is fragile on Colorado’s arid plains, and there was very little water to sustain the surrounding farms. Today, the town is no longer incorporated, although many long time residents still live in the area. Novelist James Michener immortalized the town—under the name of Line Camp—in his 1974 bestseller, Centennial.
