Description
Japanese National Flag made of white cotton with a red circle sewn in the center. The edges are folded over and stitched. Two brass grommets are attached to one end to attach the flag to a pole.

Flag acquired by donor as a war souvenir from Kiska, Alaska in 1943 during his service with the 87th Mountain Infantry. The 87th Mountain Infantry was part of an allied invasion force that had retaken the island from the Japanese.
