Clay is essential to Li’s art-making process to create ceramic figurines. There are steps to complete one. The upcoming slides will show you the characteristic of clay, technique and tools.

- Water moisturizes the clay and makes it easier to shape 

- If there are air bubbles in the clay, it may crack when firing 

Put the slices together. Knead the clay until it is evenly mixed.

Knives, wooden rifflers, sharp pins, wire scrapers, thread cutters, clay, slurries, water, cloths, wheel, wooden board and plastic wraps. And a kiln for firing process.
