Learning Objectives

Students will:

·        Describe the different ways electricity has been used to facilitate or improve communication

·        Compare and contrast the different forms of electricity-based communication (morse code, telegraphs, early telephones etc.)

·        Investigate the relationship between the increased use of electricity and increasingly long-distance communication

·        Discuss how the telephone has evolved in size, shape, usage, and price, as expressed through advertising

·        1-PS4-4. Use tools and materials to design and build a device that uses light or sound to solve the problem of communicating over a distance.*
